剧院

剧院 has been a large part of our school for more than 50 years. Whether our students are new to the performing arts or veteran performers, our extensive curricular and extracurricular offerings provide a home for students to develop techniques, discover new talents, 磨练他们的手艺, and grow as an artist. 此外, our theatre classes provide a structure for students to develop interdisciplinary skills while engaging in the arts. 

Our 剧院 I class specifically focuses on the vocal and physical techniques used to tell a story through improvisation, 独白, 现场研究, 和研讨会. 剧院 II then takes this foundation and builds upon it by introducing students to complex acting techniques, character development, 脚本分析, and stage direction. The 剧院 II class culminates in a full-length, student-directed production. 

同时, we also offer a Technical 剧院 Design and Building course that provides students the opportunity to explore the world of theatre through the design and production of 集, 道具, 照明, 和声音. During the second semester, students act as the designers and technical crew for the 剧院s II production.

We even have a scriptwriting class for students who are more interested in learning about narrative structures and how to craft a properly formatted script that takes into account themes, 集, 字符, 对话, 冲突, 和潜台词. 

After school, interested students can audition for one of our 戏剧公司 productions, including black box performances and 24-hour 玩s. 除了, eligible Company members can compete against other schools through International Thespian Society Troupe 445. We also encourage our students to participate in the annual Winton 艺术 Film Festival.
